EXCELLENT Based on 447 reviews Posted on Pandora586223/06/2026Verified Not Good Sadly very average. Following the reviews we had high hopes of this place. We both had the Hero burger and it was not good, the bun was large and dry, the meat was tasteless and dry. Burgers have moved on a lot over the last ten years, these really had not. A burger should be tasty and juicy, not dry and tasteless.Posted on Graham P10/03/2026Verified A by chance popped in for a little bit to eat Every single thing about this lovely place was fantastic, it is a charming place and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food was on point too, the depth of flavour was great, very fresh . Not a big menu but good selection from breakfast to main course. I would recommend visiting this restaurant highly 👍😁Posted on Lin H13/02/2026Verified Disappointed Dog allowed to eat from table. We were fully aware that dogs are welcome. It was unfortunate that whilst we were there for lunch opposite, a couple came in with their dog who was seated in dining chair and was allowed to sniff around the table top. When their food was served the dish with a sausage for the dog was left on the table where the dog ate it. That dish was then just collected put with rest of the plates. The waitress stoking the dog, came back with our drinks, no hand washed for sure. Dogs on floor by your chair or table acceptable. We enjoyed the food but unfortunately due to this incident we won’t be returning.Posted on Helen Jones13/02/2026Verified Dog eating from a table We are a group of 3 'mature' ladies, we regularly visit the Bakehouse for lunch. I cannot fault the food or the service. What i can fault is dogs being encouraged to sit on chairs and eat from the tables. Im not a liver of dogs in places where I eat, but tolerate them on the floor. We were horrified when a chap came in with a dog, the young waitress encouraged the dog on the chair, got it a sausage chopped up in a bowl, and placed it in front of the dog on the table. She was also petting the dog, and did not wash her hands before serving others food. I get everyone thinks its ok to take their dogs everywhere, but eating from the table?? Sadly we won't returnPosted on Delboy23/12/2025Verified Rude welcome but lovely thereafter Arrived with family for a coffee and cake. Met by a very rude older lady, really didn't like the way she spoke to us. However her younger colleague led us to a table and thereafter a lovely experience. All other staff were friendly and attentive, very nice decor and very good coffee, cake and bacon roll ordered by various members of the party. If you can get past the older lady at the entrance then you'll enjoy.Posted on romerosabine014/12/2025Verified Great place ❤️ Definitely good ❤️ Just had a quick coffee stop. Enjoyed the scrambled eggs. Someone knows how to cook. Very friendly staff. Thank youPosted on Mike T30/11/2025Verified Excellent Passing through Cullompton looking for a cafe for morning coffee. Found this wonderful little place. Coffee was fantastic. We hadn’t planned to eat breakfast but had some lovely poached eggs on toast. A misunderstanding over our order was soon rectified. Excellent 10/10Posted on Brianna B08/10/2025Verified Charming. Lovely service, delicious food. What you would expect from an upper-class area. Me and my father have come here multiple times. So lovely and charming. I would expect this kind of service and food to be typical of an upper-end area. I'm a pretty selective eater, but their soup of the day, no matter what it's been, has just been gorgeous. The staff are always lovely. The food always comes quickly, the atmosphere is wonderful. I don't know why me and my father haven't come here in a long while, but we must come again soon. I also took my cousin here too, and she loved it also. I was afraid that during the pandemic that this place would close. So glad it survived! Also, I love that they always seem to remember my order, no matter how long it's been since I last visited.Posted on FootienBeer06/10/2025Verified Old looking modern cafe Very nice rustic cafe with traditional breakfasts along with its own dishes. It looks small but had plenty of room the morning I went. Food was nice with good granary bread and proper sausages, bacon and poached eggs, tea can be served in a pot by request. Prices are inline with standard of food and ingredients.Posted on Michael L04/10/2025Verified Banging brekkie! Leaving Thurlestone on our way home to Swindon, googled the best place to go for brekkie, stopped by this beaut of a cafe, proper breakfast, thick toast and bacon, proper sausages, hit the spot! Tom looked after us very well, highly recommended! (I'd say booking is advisable, however we were able to grab a table x2 on a Saturday morning luckily!)
